46th Annual BMWBMW Square Route Rally!
June 4th - June 6th, 2021
Pre-registration closes May 28, 2021 and then prices go up!

Maryland is open for business with Covid precautions. Please bring a face mask, we’re planning a COVID ‘safe as possible’ event in accordance with the Camp and State guidelines that will be in effect in June. You might have to wear a mask but, honestly, some of us look better with our face covered. The bunkhouses will probably be restricted in some way but we hope to have them available. The government and the property owners will set the rules and may change them.

Preregistration saves money and is the only way to reserve a bed in the bunkhouse. It also awards you with an extra ticket for both the door prize and grand prize drawings! Hurry and pre-register now as the pre-registration window closes on May 28th. Mailed registrations must be postmarked no later than May 25th.

The 46th Annual Square Route Rally is at the YMCA Camp West Mar in central Maryland's Catoctin Mountains. Yes, it's the 47th year but we had to skip 2020. It's an ideal rally site, boasting bunkhouses for those who don’t wish to camp, acres of camping on comfortable grass fields or under a mature tree canopy, a large dining hall, a large, open pavilion loaded with picnic tables that serves as Beer Haus & Seminar Central, and of course large spacious bathrooms & shower houses.

On-site Registrations $55 $60 $10

Camping is Included in the rally fee, a bed in the Bunkhouse is an extra $5 per day, T-shirts $15 if you pre-register but $20 on-site. The Guided Antietam Battlefield Tour, if available, will be $15 plus a tip for the Professional Tour Guide.

For our SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER we have invited an Ambassador from the Backcountry Discovery Routes href="https://ridebdr.com">https://ridebdr.com

Your registration fees include Friday’s Chili meal and a Saturday dinner of BBQ with all the trimmings. It also includes a light breakfast fare (coffee, juice, pastry, fruit, etc.) on Saturday & Sunday morning. Thirsty? We will have a variety of adult beverages available or you can bring your own. We’ll keep the lemonade, ice tea and coffee readily available. Grab a draft from the keg and swap lies around the campfire! Bunkhouse beds are modest extra fee as is an optional tour of the Antietam battlefield by a licensed guide.

The roads are perfect for summer riding as they wind along streams and through forested hills – we’re a stone throw from part of the BDR (MA BDR section 3). You also have a choice of wide sweepers through Pennsylvania's Michaux State Forest, tight two-lane along the C&O Canal, or GS trails for your Beemer to explore. But if you stumble upon the gate into Camp David, make a quick U-Turn. Civil War buffs have a multitude of choices including Gettysburg, Sharpsburg (Antietam), South Mountain, the C&O Canal and Harper's Ferry. For those interested in Arts & Shopping both Gettysburg and Shepherdstown boast many galleries, shops and sidewalk cafes in restored downtown.

For an extra cost, Cabin space available on first-come, first-serve basis. Due the Covid-19 rules (to be determined) we expect to offer few fewer bunks this year. The property owners, YMCA of Frederick, have not yet set the social-distancing rules for the bunkhouses yet. If you select a bunkhouse option, we will update you as more information becomes available. Register early! If the final max capacity is set to a lower number than the number of reserved bunks, we must allocate in the order of registration. Any cancelled bunkhouse reservation will be fully refunded. More than enough wooded, open and quiet camping areas available. Motels are available in nearby Thurmont.

Comfortable Bunkhouse for an extra fee

The Saturday guided tour to the Antietam Battlefield is extra cost because we will hire a professional battlefield guide. Heavy rain may cancel this tour. If that happens, we will refund the fee.

This rally is open to anybody who likes BMW motorcycles even if a different marque is on their tee-shirt.

Here is a tentative schedule of events that will change - stay tuned. The fun will start at noon on Friday!
