FREE - Ride 2 Save Lives Motorcycle Assessment Couse - MAY 1

Postby bdimon » Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:01 pm

The Virginia State Police would like to invite you to participate in a free motorcycle self-assessment course. Ride your motorcycle as you learn and practice rider safety through the use of S.I.P.D.E (Scan, Identify, Predict, Decide, Execute) process.

Learn how to handle Hazards, Special Situations, Interstate Highways, Curve Negotiation and much more. All of this in a safe environment with the assistance of the Virginia State Police motor troopers.

Space is limited to 20 riders for this event, so please register early.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a riding skills assessment for the civilian rider given free of charge by the Virginia State Police Motor Unit. It will run from 8 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on the date for which you register. The class will be held at Northern Virginia Community College - Manassas Campus, 6901 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109. You must have a valid operator’s license with a Class ‘M’ endorsement, appropriate riding attire, and helmet and eye protection. Motorcycles must be street legal and helmets must be DOT approved to participate in this program.

VSP and Northern Virginia Community College reserve the right to disqualify any person who signs up and arrives without the above or behaves in such a way as to become a safety concern. A liability waiver will be signed at the beginning of the program releasing the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Department of State Police and its members, and Northern Virginia Community College.

Should there be inclement weather, you will be notified of any potential cancellation as soon as possible. If you are unable to attend, please log on to your EventBrite Account and cancel your ticket before the class date so that the attendance can be adjusted. You will be notified by email at least one day prior to the scheduled assessment should the class be canceled or altered in any way.

I took this course at Morton's last year and enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun even though I stalled my bike and

I learned from that mistake. :D

Well you GS types are always falling in the mud. I think you like it. Beautiful road machines don't like to scuff their shiny bits., :purdy:

As far as I know Marylanders are invited. I did not notice any residency restriction on the sign up page.

I just posted an offer for this weekend (12/11/2021) from James Carlisle, our club's Safety Chair. Only $75 for the ARC.
